Dinner at AZ Center

bilyfoster | September 26th, 2006 - 7:10 pm

We poped over to the AZ center to find a ‘My Big Fat Greek Restaurant’ so we sat to grab a bite. Isn’t it pretty what they did with the lights out here?

Lunch at Ruby’s Cafe

bilyfoster | September 23rd, 2006 - 5:05 pm

Well at first the service was a bit slow. Once we were assigned someone the service improved. Well see how the food is once it arrives. Bonus points for having vanilla coke.

Beta Testing the System

bilyfoster | September 20th, 2006 - 8:22 pm

Two teenagers Wednesday drove a stolen car onto the U.S. military base that commands much of the war on terror.(link)

  • An armed man ran through the U.S. Capitol after crashing his vehicle on the Capitol grounds Monday in the worst breach of security since a gunman killed two police officers in 1998.(link)

Random stories maybe, but someone is testing the system. If they aren’t, they are at least pointing out holes.

I want to see the US return to democracy, and I’d like to see the political problems solved democratically. But how can we solve it democratically when people who are running the election are corrupted? In a sense, the democracy we had wasn’t really a democracy after all but dictatorshipdisguised under the facade of democracy.

The Country IS safer!

bilyfoster | September 18th, 2006 - 12:11 pm

Finally the world can feel safer now that Willie Nelson a 73 year old country music star was caught on I-10 with 1 1/2 pounds and 2/10 pounds of mushrooms. (link) In the mean time of course a man crashed his vehicle into a security barricade near the United States Capitol this morning, ran into the building (link).
But ya know we’re safer now that they caught Willie.

Knock, Knock

HEY AMERICA, WAKE THE F*CK UP!

This week, the Senate is planning to quietly hold a vote that would pardon President Bush for breaking the law by illegally wiretapping innocent Americans.

The bill would let the administration off the hook for breaking the law and make it legal to wiretap Americans, in secret, without any oversight whenever they want to.

Democrats and some Republicans are holding strong against it, and if enough of us speak up we can stop it. Can you sign the petition opposing the Republican move to pardon President Bush for breaking the law?

Fox Gloats

bilyfoster | September 14th, 2006 - 9:58 pm

It continues to amaze me how people can watch FOX News or Bill O’Reilly. If most of America feels the way they do then it’s no wonder they don’t under Air America and people like myself. When I think about I’d too would gloat at the demise of FOX and O’Reilly but I’d at least have the courtsy of waiting until it happened. Of course that’s part of what’s difference between “US” and “them”. I believe in courtsy and respect to people who deserve it. I love good dialouge even if it’s heated. I too am stuborn and strong in my beliefs of right and wrong. While I admitt I don’t watch much FOX News what little I have seen is nothing but hypocritcal, self projecting, and insulting propagandists. I’m not saying Air America is 100% free of that but I’ve seen/heard Air America hosts handle calls from the other side with the respect the caller deserves. On O’Reilly he starts insulting the caller and the mutes them. Most of the “them” callers on Air America are disrespectful and go straight for the lowest insult they can squeeze out. The only insults I’ve heard from “US” callers into the right wing show are the truth. I guess when you don’t wait to collect the facts the truth is insulting.

Air America Update

bilyfoster | September 14th, 2006 - 9:41 pm

A lot of you have seen the rumors put out by Air America’s competitors about the financial well being of the network. I am here to say the rumors of our demise are greatly exaggerated.

There is a scene in Apollo 13 where everyone thinks the spacecraft is going to crash and the whole room is in a state of panic. Gene Kranz quiets the room and pulls everyone together. He says:

I know a lot of you are worried about what’s about to happen, but with all due respect, I think we are about to have our finest hour.
